Everything you need to know
How long does LLC formation take?
Standard formation in Delaware takes 7–10 business days. Expedited filing can reduce this to 1–3 business days for an additional state fee. Wyoming typically processes in 3–5 business days. You will receive your stamped Articles of Organization as a digital PDF once the state approves.
Can I form a U.S. LLC without being a U.S. citizen or resident?
Yes. There is no citizenship or residency requirement for LLC ownership in the United States. Non-U.S. persons can own 100% of a U.S. LLC. UR Founders specializes in formations for international founders and handles ITIN-free EIN applications on your behalf.
What is an EIN and why do I need one?
An Employer Identification Number (EIN) is a federal tax identification number issued by the IRS. It is required to open a U.S. business bank account, hire employees, and file federal tax returns. We file Form SS-4 with the IRS after your LLC is formed.
Will I be able to open a U.S. bank account remotely?
Yes, through our banking partners. We work with fintech providers and select traditional banks that offer remote account opening for international founders. Accounts typically include a routing number, ACH capability, and a debit card shipped internationally.
What are my annual compliance obligations?
Delaware LLCs pay an annual franchise tax (minimum $300) and must maintain a registered agent. Most states also require an annual report. The federal Corporate Transparency Act now mandates a Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) report within 90 days of formation. UR Founders' Standard and Premium plans include compliance monitoring.
What is your refund policy?
We offer a full refund on the UR Founders service fee if your filing is rejected by the state due to an error on our part. State filing fees paid to government agencies are non-refundable. If you change your mind before we submit your filing, we will refund 80% of the service fee.
